Background
Our client was struggling to compile large data sets on their COAMs (Coin Operated Amusements Machines) in Excel to measure their own performance and evaluate potential target acquisitions. These models were difficult to maintain and perform sensitivity and scenario analyses on. Our client was also in need of a temporary Controller and FP&A lead to integrate the financials of several recently acquired companies, model future acquisition impacts, and set the incoming permanent CFO up for success.
Objective
- Provide live, automated, and easy to maintain dashboards that solve the analytical and accounting needs of the operating business
- Offer expert Accounting & Finance support to both the operating company and their private equity deal team
- Build a month-end reporting package and transition to the incoming CFO
- Develop a tool to evaluate acquisition opportunities (when data is provided), and can be shared with sponsors in an efficient and secure manner
Solution
- Provided interim accounting support, including purchase accounting, historical ledger clean-up, and an evaluation of current talent and processes
- Designed month-end close processes, cash flow forecasts, and a detailed, integrated reporting package to highlight key KPIs and evaluate LTM EBITDA as new targets were acquired and integrated
- Created a suite of custom dashboards that offer easy to understand KPIs related to the performance of each location and individual machine
CUSTOM DASHBOARD AND REPORTING INTEGRATION
created an efficient and rapidly scalable platform to support the “buy and build” strategy.
